More members of Congress are rethinking the U.S. economic relationship with China. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) appeared on Fox Business' Cavuto Coast to Coast, and said that "America can’t be 100% reliant on any foreign power, including China."
"America can’t be 100% reliant on any foreign power, including China. Diversifying our trade relationships is key to our country’s economic stability," Rep. Moskowitz stated.
Host Neil Cavuto opens noting that several companies, including Foxconn, are leaving China as tensions raise, asking if other companies should do likewise.
Rep. Moskowitz answers with a solid "yes, I do think they should be doing the same."

"Yes, I do think they should be doing the same. I mean, listen, you're seeing a bipartisan voice coming out of Congress that we need to not just be tougher with China, but more competitive with China," he describes.
Moskowitz also cites his own experience as Emergency Management Director during the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein importation was extremely difficult, especially when the US relies on the country as much as we do.
As such, borrowing a term used by Cavuto's previous guest, American companies should "diversify" their international partners.
"As the former Emergency Management Director of Florida during the pandemic, I can tell you trying to get goods out of China became extremely difficult, and we had to turn to China because the overwhelming majority of the things we needed came from China. And so, there's not doubt that all companies should be looking to diversify, which was the word your last guest used."
Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) recently spoke in favor of "decoupling" with China completely during a House Select Committee hearing.
"We must decouple, we have to decouple. We can't do it alone, we actually have to do it with our allies," said Rep. Gimenez, claiming American allies are more aware of the country's real goals.
