Florida State Senator Victor Torres (D) was quick to release an audio phone recording he received earlier this week, where he was called a “bald-headed F-cking Sp-c freak," and quick to blame Republicans.

The call was made by someone who disagreed with him over his alleged support for a gun violence bill that was proposed in the Florida Legislature.

“There's a whole group of us over here that read that you're against that bill as being introduced that will prohibit credit card companies from tracking gun purchases and ammo purchases in Florida,” said the caller.

Moments later, the caller dove right into his racist gripe against Sen. Torres.

The profanity-laden voicemail was despicable, referring to African Americans as “N-ggers” and Latinos as “sp-cs.”

Torres and Democratic Leader Lauren Book both put out statements condemning the voicemail, but while Leader Book admonished the caller and praised Torres for his “dedication” to “public service,” Torres blamed Republican legislators for passing laws that he says are “empowering these racist zealots with their divisive Hate Agenda.”

“Republicans are jeopardizing the public safety of all Floridians by empowering these racist zealots with their divisive Hate Agenda. The divisive, partisan political agenda emboldens this disgusting behavior – pushed by the Republican majority. The laws they write are fueling potential violent acts in the future, and neither myself, my family or my constituents will stand by and be victims,” stated Sen. Torres.

But while Torres blames Republicans, the caller who appears to have been outed as “Ed” by someone in the room with him, did not reference Republicans, Gov. Ron DeSantis, or event former President Donald Trump.

The caller may have been Republican, or a Democrat, or an Independent.

Here is the entire transcription of the call:

“This is from Polk County, Florida. There's a whole group of us over her that read that you're against that bill as being introduced that will prohibit credit card companies from tracking gun purchases and ammo purchases in Florida.

What we don't need is a bald-headed f-cking sp-c freak like you fucking trying to take our guns away, trying to track us down here.

AR-15 are wanted in this state by normal people they keep n-ggers and sp-cs the fuck away from our homes, our businesses, from raping our wives and children.

So you know you're a complete fucking asshole, should never come down there too many fucking New York scumbag cocksuckers like you moving to Florida and trying to take our rights away, so eat shit, and drop dead you son of a bitch. Be a f-cking man, stand up give me a call and we'll discuss it bye bye

“Oh my gosh, Ed, ” could be heard being said in the last moments before the caller hung up.
