DeSantis First Governor to Lift COVID Restrictions on Elective Surgeries

WINTER HAVEN—Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took another victory lap on the 3-year anniversary of “15 Days to Slow the Spread” of the COVID-19  virus effort. Gov. DeSantis had a group of witnesses talk about their personal experiences as a result of the COVID pandemic lockdown.

The Floridian Publisher Javier Manjarres, who tore his Distal Biceps Tendon prior to the COVID lockdown, reminded Gov. DeSantis that he lifted the elective surgery restrictions at hospitals during the pandemic.

According to Manjarres, he had to wait 8 months from the moment he tore the bicep to the day he finally had the injury repaired because of the shutdown.

Manjarres said that he could barely curl a 5 lb dumbbell, let alone lift his newborn daughter with his injured arm.

DeSantis Says COVID Vaccinations on Babies are "Fundamentally Wrong"

At the time. Gov. DeSantis is said to have told Manjarres that he would be announcing the lifting of the restriction shortly after holding a COVID press event on a Saturday at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida.

DeSantis said that he followed the CDC guidelines of restricting elective surgeries he “had no way to disprove” their assertion, adding that because none of their COVID infection “projections” came to pass in Florida, he decided to lift them.

DeSantis lifted the restriction two days later after flying back from a meeting with former President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

“None of them were right,” said DeSantis. “We did have an increase, not anywhere close” to what they predicted,” adding that the “media freaked them out, and some of the people screaming on CNN” scared patients from wanting to seek care at a hospital.

Manjarres contends that with his repaired arm, he can still defeat DeSantis in arm wrestling, and could curl more than him.
