Florida Democrats continue to attack Governor Ron DeSantis (R). Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) appeared on MSNBCcalling Gov. DeSantis "a disaster for Florida."

"Let’s be clear: @GovRonDeSantis is a disaster in Florida. He bullies gay kids, bans books and wants a near-total abortion ban. His autocratic agenda hurts our education system and ignores kitchen table issues like high rents & property insurance. Florida and [America] deserves better," Rep. Wasserman-Schultz stated.

Rep. Wasserman-Schultz called Gov. DeSantis a "rights wrecking ball" who has done "nothing short of the fascism many of my constituents have fled from in their countries of origin."

"What I think it's important to focus on with Ron DeSantis is that he is a rights wrecking ball. What he has done to the state of Florida is nothing short of the fascism many of my constituents have fled from in their countries of origin: Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and the list goes on," she said.

Her evidence of DeSantis' apparent fascism includes relaxing gun laws, signaling support for banning abortion after six weeks, and education reforms prohibiting Critical Race Theory (CRT) and certain forms of sexual education.

"He has proposed and will likely push through putting more guns into the hands of inexperienced people through permit-less carry. He has now proposed a nearly total abortion ban, before which most women, including me; I didn't find out I was pregnant with my third child until eight weeks; and now they'll have a six-week abortion. He's banned books, bullied gay kids, really completely undermined the education system, and is going to make it even worse in this legislative session," Wasserman Schultz continues.

"Ron DeSantis is a disaster waiting to happen. He's already wrecking Florida, and Americans will be very clear that they don't want to expand his ability to hurt them by electing him President," she concludes.

This comes hot on the heels of recent comments by fellow Florida Democrat Representative Maxwell Frost, who said DeSantis is "abusing his power," aided and abetted by the Republican State Legislature whom Rep. Frost calls DeSantis' "lapdogs."
