Frost Calls DeSantis a Fascist: 'I Don't Care What Anyone Says.'

As the first elected U.S. congressman from Gen-Z, freshman Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) leaves no doubt whether the new generation will passively attempt to represent their constituents. Recently, Rep. Frost repeatedly called Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) a “fascist” and stated that he “we are actively being oppressed.

“I’ve had people tell me to stop using the word fascist in talking about Gov DeSantis and what’s going on in Florida. I won’t stop. This is what’s going on. I won’t tone down my language when we are actively being oppressed. This is my home,” stated Rep. Frost.

Rep. Frost did not elaborate on exactly who is “actively being oppressed.”

This isn’t the first time Gov. DeSantis has been accused of being authoritarian. For instance, MSNBC’s Joy Reid provided the notion that the Florida Governor wants to take “total control of society.”

When Frost visited South Korea and Japan as part of a diplomatic exchange, he mentioned that while speaking with a trans-rights activist that “Gov. DeSantis is targeting LGBTQ+ kids.”

Frost also described the climate in Florida as “scary” and that he will not allow the “damn fascist to take our state.”

“I won’t let these damn fascist take our state. The working poor and middle class won’t stand for it. I won’t stay quiet. I don’t care what anyone says,” stated Frost.
