Trump Proposes Iron-Dome Like Missile Defense System

With former President Donald Trump out on the reelection campaign trail, videos detailing his domestic and foreign policy plans are making the rounds. A recent video, tweeted by Trump War Room, features President Trump speaking about implementing an Iron Dome-like missile defense system.

Trump begins his pitch by saying that "under Joe Biden, the world has become vastly more dangerous. And there is no greater danger than the deadly menace of nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles."

He briefly explains what is meant by "hypersonic" missiles, which travel several times faster than sound (as per the word) and much faster than conventional missiles. "Armed with nuclear weapons, they could annihilate entire cities, and even countries, within minutes," Trump warns, "and we cannot let this happen."

More ominously, says Trump, "the 'nuclear' word is being mentioned all the time. This is a word you're not allowed to use. It was never used during the Trump administration, but now other countries are using that word against us, because they have no respect for our leadership."

As such, Trump says the potential outbreak of World War III would make the first two "look like very small battles." This is the point at which he makes the main selling point of the video, saying such a massive conflict can be averted with "unmatched technology and unrivaled strength." Upon returning to office, Trump states he will work with Congress and the military; excluding "the ones you see on television, I don't consider them leaders;" to build the aforementioned missile defense shield.

He himself makes the comparison to Israel's Iron Dome system, saying the Jewish State "relied on us" to help develop it. Moreover, Trump lambasts past leaders for their apparent unwillingness to make use of "technology that is unsurpassed."

The video turns into a warning as Trump says "our adversaries must understand that it is they, not the United States, will be totally destroyed if they ever dare to launch missiles against our homeland."

He concludes by saying "we will have peace through strength," reiterating that "we had no wars during the Trump administration... because we were strong, the other side knew it. And they didn't want to play games, they didn't want to mess around."

Such a strong response resembles that of his proposed plan to battle the drug cartels which earned praise from Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL-6).
