Governor Ron DeSantis' (R-FL) ongoing battle to reform education in Florida continues to draw attention on the national stage. More specifically, from former President Donald Trump and his campaign.

A new campaign video posted by Trump War Room reveals he intends to do everything Gov. DeSantis is doing for education and more, but at a larger scale. Specifically, one thing he calls for is the allowance to electing of school principals by parents.

PresidentTrump also says in his video that he will have the Dept. of Education and the Dept. of Justice open civil rights investigations into schools practicing racial discrimination, referring to an apparent anti-Asian bias in affirmative action.

Additionally, he claims "the Marxism preached in our schools is also totally hostile to Judeo-Christian teachings, and in many ways is resembling an established new religion. Can't let that happen." As such, Trump vows to investigate violations of the establishment and free exercise clauses of the Constitution, "and on day one, we will begin to find and remove the radical zealots and Marxists who have infiltrated the federal Department of Education."

Moreover, Trump says he will "create a new credentialing body that will be the gold standard, anywhere in the world, to certify teachers who embrace patriotic values, support our way of life, and understand that their job is not to indoctrinate children, but very simply to educate them.

Finally, Trump concludes that he will give favorable treatment to states and school districts that remove tenure for K-12 teachers and implement additional merit pay "so we can remove bad teachers... and reward good teachers;" school districts that "drastically" cut Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) bureaucracy; adopt a parental bill of rights "that includes complete curriculum transparency;" and lastly, as described above, implement direct election of school principals by parents. "It's all about the parents, who are their children. More than anyone else, parents know what their children need. If any principal is not getting the job done, the parents should be able to vote to fire them and select someone who will."

Now, we all know Trump is about one-upmanship, but who is to say Gov. DeSantis won't implement similar policies if he's the one sitting in the Oval Office come 2025?
