Kat Cammack Named to Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Gov

The 118th Congress has signaled in new leadership within the ranks of the U.S. House of Representatives.  Now with House Republicans in control, US Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), has attained a spot on the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government along with several prominent House Republicans.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan will lead the subcommittee, with Reps. Kat Cammack, Darrell Issa, Thomas Massie, Chris Stewart, Elise Stefanik, Mike Johnson, Chip Roy, Kelly Armstrong, Greg Steube, Dan Bishop, and Harriet Hageman have been named as fellow members of the subcommittee.

Republicans hope to utilize their position of only controlling one chamber of Congress to curb Biden Administration policies and expose enough damage done by President Biden's (D) leadership to influence the 2024 Presidential election.  A subcommittee dedicated to checking in the intentions of the federal government may be a very efficient way for the GOP to successfully pull this off.

Florida's Cammack was named to the seat by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) who fought a historic battle against members of his own party to attain the speakership.  The battle, however, gave great gains to House Republicans of the Trump camp.

"Thank you to Speaker McCarthy and Chairman Jordan for the hard work over the last several months to make this important subcommittee a reality. I'm thrilled to join my colleagues on this Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government this Congress," said Rep. Cammack.

"Over the last two years of this administration, we've seen the unchecked growth of the federal bureaucracy and the unfettered power of the executive branches used against the American people. Whether it's the DOJ going after parents concerned about their children's education or the taxpayer funds that fueled research around COVID, we're equipped to return accountability and transparency to the American people. It's long past time we deliver the answers everyone deserves."

Congresswoman Cammack is a relatively newer member of Congress, being elected to her position in 2020.  The congresswoman has been a leading critic of the Biden Administration and what she thinks are his disastrous policies.  Cammack herself visited the US-Mexican border in hopes to make progress on the impending Border Crisis that began in early 2021.
