Crack Cocaine is addictive and kills, but that didn’t stop the government (Senate Democrats) from allocating taxpayer dollars to buy and distribute “Crack Kits” to individuals along the east coast.

Sen. Marco Rubio has recently pointed out the apparent hypocrisy of Senate Democrats as it pertains to the funding of “safe-smoking” or “Crack Kits” in the American Rescue Plan.

Back in February 2022, Sen. Rubio penned and introduced an amendment to the American Rescue Plan that would “prohibit any funds to procure, supply, or distribute pipes or cylindrical objects that are used to smoke or inhale illicit narcotics.”

In other words, Sen. Rubio’s amendment was telling Americans to “Just Say No” to taxpayer-funded drug paraphernalia, but Senate Democrats blocked his measure.

“Remember when Democrats & media denied the federal government was sending crack pipes to addicts & called my efforts to prohibit it a “stunt”? Well Guess what…the exact same provision they once fought so hard to block is now included in the end of year government funding bill,” stated Sen. Rubio

Sen. Rubio is referring to the newly-introduced $1.7 billion omnibus spending bill, which contains language that prohibits tax dollars from going to buy any of those “Crack Kits.”

When the American Rescue Plan was first introduced, the Washington Free Beacon reported on the questionable purchase of drug paraphernalia but was quickly dismissed by some mainstream media outlets and the White House.

"They were never a part of the kit, it was inaccurate reporting," Psaki stated of the pipes. "A safe smoking kit may contain alcohol swabs, lip balm, other materials to promote hygiene and reduce the transmission of diseases."

Psaki’s claim was quickly dispelled. The WFB posted images of the “kits” they obtained from local clinics and groups that were distributing these kits within cities like Boston, New York City, and Baltimore.

Each kit contained the items used when an individual is smoking crack cocaine, including the copper wiring.

“Crack pipes are distributed in safe-smoking kits up and down the East Coast, raising questions about the Biden administration's assertion that its multimillion-dollar harm reduction grant program wouldn't funnel taxpayer dollars to drug paraphernalia.”- WFB

Rubio’s amendment was filed after the Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) all but confirmed that a portion of a $30 million grant was allotted to buying up these “smoking kits.”
