The “Woke society” that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been critical of was on full display this week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where another alleged “sexually explicit” drag queen show has been held at the Broward Center of the Performing Arts.
According to local activist Chris Nelson, the Show” A Drag Queen Christmas” displayed “sexually explicit” to attendees, including a handful of minors, several he says looked as young as 10 years old.
Nelson told The Floridian that the show and its “actors” stuck to the script of showing simulated sex acts to minors, even acting out that famous childhood story, “Screwdolph the Red-Nippled Reindeer.”
When Nelson opposed one of the show's performers by yelling out, “This is not right. It is not right for children to be at this thing,” Nelson was signaled and told to leave the show.
“After noticing MULTIPLE children in the audience at the explicit Drag Queen Christmas in Ft Lauderdale I called out performer Nina West for inviting and allowing children to come to her sexually explicit shows,” stated Nelson.
One of the actors took offense to Nelson’s outburst and suggested that he apologize to the person he was talking to.
“The person I am talking to is 35 years old. So if you would like to introduce yourself and apologize to her personally,” said the actor.
Nelson continued yelling out “There are children here. There are children here. It’s not right” before encountering Broward Sheriff’s deputies who told him to leave the premises and threatened to arrest him for trespassing if he returned.
Nelson quipped, telling the deputies, “You should arrest them for having children in here.”
Nelson caught the encounter on his iPhone, and as the video panned around the audience, several minor children were in attendance.
This “Drag show” was first outed by Taylor Hansen a week ago when he caught many of the acts on video and posted them to social media.
The videos and images of the event on his Twitter feed told the story of the “Drag Queen Christmas,” which is promoted to “All ages.”
Earlier this year, Gov. DeSantis condemned the sexualization of children by a “woke society.”
"Having kids involved in this is wrong. That is not consistent with our law and policy in the state of Florida, and it is a disturbing trend in our society to try and sexualize these young people. That is not the way you look out for our children, you protect children, you do not expose them to things that are inappropriate,” said Gov. DeSantis.
