Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) joined Mark Levin on his Life, Liberty, and Levin show to discuss his upcoming race with Florida Rep. Val Demings (D). Rubio, currently polling ahead of Demings in the Senate race, shared his thoughts on the outcome of the election.

Some of the most closely watched races in Florida have Republicans in the lead, but Democrats are still hopeful that they can surge in support to carry them past the victory line. This week, President Joe Biden (D) will be taking a trip to Miami Gardens to campaign with both Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) and Demings as Democrats look to turn the state blue. However, in 2020, the state decidedly voted for President Donald Trump (R), and Senator Rubio has expressed that Republicans will “retake Washington” on November 8th.

Speaking of his “vision” for the Senate, Rubio explained that Republicans are “going to get there and number one, we’re going to stop bad things from happening. Number two: we’re going to pass things that make sense for the American people,” which translates to “more energy production” and focusing “on China, the real threat of the 21st century.” Finally, Rubio commented that Republicans plan “to hold this administration accountable.”

In reference to Demings’ time in the House, Rubio detailed that Demings “got to Congress and voted to do things like adding a ten dollar tax to every barrel of oil, that’s about thirty-five cents per gallon for every American.” Moreover, “she voted to zero out the war against terror. She voted to gut the military spending by a trillion dollars. She voted to increase taxes by nine trillion dollars.”

Demings was on the short list of Biden’s Vice-Presidential picks, and she has since highlighted her experience as Orlando Police Chief while on the campaign trail, calling herself “Chief Demings.”

“When Biden was considering her, he really was, the knock on her from the Left was that she used to be a police officer,” Rubio commented, adding that Demings “tried to cleanse herself of that by becoming anti-police.”
