Rick Scott Blasts Biden for October Inflation Numbers

Share

At the beginning of every month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases the numbers concerning the economy’s growth (or lack thereof). More often than not, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) a member of the Senate Budget Committee and the Chairman of the National Republican Senate Committee, does not have good things to say the most recent numbers that have come out during President Joe Biden’s (D) time in office.

The inflation numbers for October do not look good for the President. Compared to October 2021, fuel oil has gone up 68.5%, eggs 43%, and household items such as potatoes, gas, lunchmeat, flour, and butter/margarine have all gone up at least 15%. This was supposed to be one of the biggest issues this election cycle.

The overall inflationary increase over the year has been 7.7%. Sen. Scott pointed out that the Biden administration has done nothing to address this problem.

“As Americans begin holiday preparations, Joe Biden’s raging inflation crisis is set to crush spirits for the second year in a row. For nearly two years, families in Florida and across the country have been dealing with rising prices and Biden has done NOTHING to fix it. He and Congressional Democrats created this devastating crisis with their endless demand for reckless spending and they must answer for it,” said Scott.

Should the Republicans take back the House and the Senate, they could possibly force the President and the Democrats to come back to the center, similar to when the Republicans took back the House for the first time in 4 decades during the Clinton administration in 1994. If that happens, Sen. Scott would be able to promote the “fiscal responsibility” that he is demanding.

“Unemployment is rising, prices continue to skyrocket and we could face a critical shortage of fuel and heating oil this winter. That’s the America that Joe Biden’s reckless, failed agenda has created and I won’t rest until we force change that puts American families first. It’s time to end the madness and demand fiscal responsibility that will finally end this national nightmare. Enough is enough,” said Scott.

However, while the inflation numbers aren’t great, Scott’s attention will most likely be on Georgia for the coming weeks as Herschel Walker (R) and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) are headed to a runoff in the coming weeks.
