With election day drawing nearer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) is confident that Democrats will retain the House. However, Republicans are hopeful that they will overtake the House as polls indicate there could be a “red wave” in November. This week, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) joined Laura Ingraham on the Ingraham Angle to discuss just that. Rubio outlined 3 things Republicans should do if they “retake Washington.”

During an interview on Face the Nation, Speaker Pelosi discussed that she’s “very confident” Democrats will retain control of the House and the Senate in November.

“I’ve been in over 20 states since Congress adjourned in the last month or so. And I see very clearly that the ownership of the ground is with us,” Pelosi explained.

In contrast, Sen. Rubio argues that Republicans will usher in a “red wave,” and if they do so, there are “three directions” that they need to address.

“Number one is we have to stop bad things from happening, crazy people from getting into positions of power. In the Senate, we have that power,” he detailed. Moreover, he expressed that “the election alone brings an end to some of that insanity.”

The second thing “is we have to make good things happen, like energy independence, like ensuring federal laws aren’t interfering with the decisions that are being made at the state level, the school board level,” etc.

“We need to pass those bills on energy, and things to get education and the like, and crime for that matter,” he continued. However, Rubio commented that simply winning the House and the Senate is not enough because the President can still veto legislation.

“The third is accountability,” Rubio concluded, noting that "Republicans have to use our oversight role that we have. We should have hearings on the riots in the summer of 2020.”
