Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has released a new advertisement featuring professional MMA fighter and Miami-native Jorge Masvidal. In the video, Masvidal endorses DeSantis, outlining why Floridians should reelect the Florida Governor.

Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) is vying for the top post in the state. However, a recent poll indicates that the Democrat is lagging behind 14 points as DeSantis rises in popularity. Still, the gubernatorial hopeful's new advertisement proposes that "Ron DeSantis is making it harder to get by" in Florida. "He hiked sales taxes a billion and says skyrocketing insurance costs weren't his problem," Crist added, telling viewers that he'll fix the problems that DeSantis has created.

In contrast, Masvidal expresses that, under DeSantis' leadership, Florida has flourished.

"He's doing the right thing in Florida, and we're on to way greater things," Masvidal adds.

"It takes a fighter to know a fighter, and Ron DeSantis is the real thing," Masvidal comments, saying that the Governor "fights for you, he fights for our kids, he fights for our freedom."

Masvidal urges Floridians to reelect DeSantis in November because DeSantis is "fighting for Florida to keep us free."

Democrats like Crist have warned that DeSantis has employed authoritarian tactics in the state, which is why they've shared that DeSantis is a threat to democracy. In contrast, Team DeSantis praised the efforts of the Governor while in office, telling supporters that "Governor DeSantis is the Left’s number one target because they know he is the last line of defense against their extreme agenda."

Calling him "America's Governor," Team DeSantis released the advertisement with Masvidal the same week a Telemundo/LX News Poll also showed that Hispanic voters prefer DeSantis over Crist, citing the Governor's response to Hurricane Ian.

With the midterm election under two weeks away, Floridians will continue to closely monitor the trajectory of this race.
