Political pundits have estimated that the upcoming 2022 midterm election could result in a “red wave.” This was echoed by the former White House Press Secretary during an appearance on MSNBC.

One issue that voters are paying close attention to is the economy and inflation, which President Joe Biden (D) discussed in a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. As questions continue to arise regarding Biden’s prospects for 2024, dissent appears to be brewing within the Democratic party. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I) announced that she would be leaving the Democratic party, calling Democrats a 'cabal of warmongers."

A recent poll regarding Rhode Island’s second congressional district shows that Allan Fung (R) is ahead of Rep. Seth Magaziner (D) with Fung at 45% and Magaziner at 37%. Should Fung win in November, he would be the first Republican congressman to represent the district in nearly 30 years.

With growing concerns such as the economy and rising inflation among others, Democrats are mobilizing across the country to expand their control of the political arena, but one former presidential candidate is now stepping away from the party.

Gabbard, in a video posted on social media, announced that she was leaving the Democratic party.

Gabbard has often taken to social media to criticize the Biden administration, and in the video, Gabbard argues that the Democratic leadership is “dragging us closer to nuclear war.”

Saying that the “Democratic Party… is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers,” Gabbard warned that Democrats are trying to “undermine our God-given freedoms.”

Gabbard launched a presidential run in 2020. However, soon after ending her bid for the White House, she endorsed President Biden.

Since Biden's election, Gabbard has grown as a vocal critic of the president.

After making the announcement, Gabbard further discussed her departure with Tucker Carlson, sharing on social media that she believes "in a government of, by and for the people. Unfortunately, today’s Democratic Party stands for a government of, by, and for the powerful elite. If you can no longer stomach the cowardly wokeness of Dem Party idealogues, I invite you to join me."
