Shortly after it was announced that a criminal investigation had been opened against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), reports are circulating that the Governor isn’t finished relocating undocumented immigrants. New reports indicated that Governor DeSantis will be directing a plane of undocumented immigrants to Delaware, the home of President Joe Biden (D).

Earlier this month, Governor DeSantis sent two planes filled with undocumented immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, which is home to the Obamas.

The decision was met with widespread condemnation from Democrats, and lawmakers like California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) further commented by calling on the Department of Justice to investigate the Florida Governor.

This week, authorities in Texas announced that a criminal investigation would be conducted to make sure the immigrants were not victims of a criminal offense, but it appears that Governor DeSantis is not done with sending undocumented immigrants to other states.

Reports began to surface that DeSantis has his sights set on Delaware, and Florida Rep. Anna V. Eskamani (D) lent creedence to the rumor by taking to social media and posting flight information of the alleged flight.

Sharing a tweet with information regarding the flight, Rep. Eskamani commented that “trafficking asylum seekers to ‘own the libs’ is absolutely disgusting and should disturb everyone.”

Moreover, Eskamani joined other Democrats in calling for the Department of Transportation to provide “receipts on contracted planes & fights [sic] organized since July 1st to today,” adding that “Governor DeSantis continues to use public money for his gross political ambitious [sic], using asylum seekers as pawns.”

Emily David Hershman, spokeswoman for Delaware Governor John Carney (D), said that Delaware is preparing “for the possibility of migrants arriving in Delaware unannounced,” adding that state officials are collaborating with community organizations and coordinating with the federal government “to make sure that migrants who arrive here have the support that they need.”
