In American politics, both political parties claim to be the party of science and claim to be the party that fights for the average Joe, and both parties claim to be the party that supports Israel and the Jewish community the most. What is constant in these three examples is that both parties manage these claims with completely different approaches.
For example, when it comes to science: Democrats use their approach to climate change as evidence for their claim, while Republicans use the notion that their belief that gender is not on a spectrum gives validity to their claim that they are the party of science. Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL), a Jewish-America member of Congress is going against the party’s support of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), otherwise known as the Iran Nuclear Deal.
As the US continues to confront Russia's illegal and unjust invasion of Ukraine AND consider a potential return to an Iran nuclear deal, we must examine how Russia and Iran cooperate to undermine the international rules-based order and advance their own malicious agendas.

A nuclear-armed Iran is a threat to Israel, the Middle East.
Deutch also brought up the fact that the supporting Iran can directly support Russia, mentioning the fact that the two countries have been partners and have “long cooperated on issues of common interest.” With a more nuclear-capable Iran with cash on hand, the Iran deal could be counterintuitive to the sanctions that the United States has put on Russia’s oil industry since the start of the Russo-Ukranian conflict.
“It’s essential that our policy towards Russia and Iran are coordinated & aligned to advance US interests.” – Rep. Ted Deutch
The Florida Congressman ended his argument with an overall statement about the scenario.
Russia-Iran cooperation is evolving to encompass a larger and even more dangerous set of issues. As we continue to stand strongly with Ukraine, the JCPOA simply cannot be viewed independent of its likely benefits to Russia and Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.

Republicans have been staunch supporters of Israel as they are one of the few free states in the Middle East. Most Democrats in the U.S. Congress also support Israel, but there is a growing number of Progressives that have pledged their supported for Palestine and the BDS Movement.
