The Iran Deal, or as it’s formally known, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was originally brought about in the later stages of the Obama administration (Joe Biden was Vice President at the time). It was struck down by former President Donald Trump (R) early on in his presidency. Since the transition, President Joe Biden has been working to reinstate the deal.

Since then, Senators such as Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) have called out Joe Biden and his attempt to renegotiate with Iran. About a month ago, the Iranian regime made a bold claim that if Israel made “even the smallest mistake, our response will be given at the center of the Zionist regime and our Armed Forces won’t let them relax.” The Florida Senator said in response in a tweet that

“Iran is evil and hates Israel. @JoeBiden must abandon his dangerous attempts to strike a nuclear deal. Only a fool would trust known terrorists.” said the former governor.

Now we fast forward to the present day. Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) have introduced the Iran China Accountability Act. This bill is focused on stopping taxpayer dollars to contributing to the advancement of “a nuclear agreement with Iran until the Iranian regime terminates its ties with the Chinese Communist Party and terrorist groups like Hamas.” according to the press release.

“A renewed nuclear deal with Iran would not only benefit the regime in Tehran, it would similarly reward and enrich the Chinese Communist Party.” Rubio stated. “We cannot allow the Biden Administration to continue making concessions to dictators in return for empty promises. It is dangerous and anti-American.”

According to the bill, any agreement regarding nuclear capabilities has to be ratified by a two-thirds vote in the U.S. Senate. China must stop the incarceration of Uyghur Muslims, and Iran must terminate all agreements “involving the transfer of funds from China” and must “terminate all ties and transfers of cash to Iranian proxy forces (including Hamas)”

The Florida Senator faces a battle against Rep. Val Demings (D-FL) in the upcoming midterm elections.
