In a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the FBI ordered social media not to spread news about Hunter Biden's laptop. While Newsweek clarifies that this was to verify the story's authenticity, the recent raid on Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home raises suspicion in hindsight. On Friday, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL-17) offered his insights on Fox News' Evening Edit.

"You have the CEO of Facebook admitting that he censored vital information that affected the outcome of the election," Steube begins. "We know now that people would've voted differently had they known that information." Additionally, Steube says that Zuckerberg and the FBI effectively violated the First Amendment, since the FBI was "using their positions to collude and conspire to change the outcome of an election."

Steube speaks of drafting a letter to Zuckerberg demanding the identities of the specific agents who told him to suppress news of Hunter Biden's laptop, "so that when we take the majority back, we'll have some very tough questions to ask them under oath." Evening Edit host Elizabeth MacDonald notes that the suppression of the story is worse when none of the fact-checkers were able to say it was false. MacDonald adds that FBI whistleblowers "by the dozens" are angered at the FBI's apparent politicization. Steube responds that recent events demonstrate that the FBI has been corrupt, only now are the American people seeing it. He continues to reiterate that the FBI and Big Tech companies will be made to answer after the midterms, as many other Republicans have said.

Friday evening, Steube tweeted about his interview, saying that "the FBI is trying to drive the direction that they want this country to go politically and it's a violation of the law."

"The FBI is trying to drive the direction that they want this country to go politically and it’s a violation of the law. I joined @eveningedit to discuss the FBI colluding with Facebook to squash the Hunter Biden Laptop story weeks before the election," the tweet reads.
