After announcing she would no longer challenge Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and would instead challenge Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R) in a congressional race, Florida state Senator Annette Taddeo (D) is not finished with the Democratic gubernatorial primary race.
In a video posted on social media, Senator Taddeo endorsed Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) in his primary bid against Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D).
Taddeo was the last candidate to enter the Democratic gubernatorial primary, announcing that she would embark on a campaign that would visit every county in the state of Florida. Although Taddeo and Crist were vying for the nomination, neither one hurled criticism at the other.
In 2014, Taddeo was Crist's running mate as he faced Florida Governor Rick Scott (R), but the ticket lost.
Now, Taddeo has appeared in a video with the former Republican Governor, endorsing Crist as he looks to challenge DeSantis in November.
Calling their 2014 ticket a "joyful mission," the lawmakers appear in front of a grey wall, affirming that they've "been through a lot together."
"We need to send Charlie Crist back to the Governors mansion and send me to Congress," said Taddeo, thanking Crist for his "support in this pivotal race." Moreover, Taddeo expressed that the state needs our representatives that can unite us, bring us together and actually represent all people, not just those that vote for them."
Likewise, Crist endorsed Taddeo in her congressional run, adding that he was endorsing her "because it's so important for South Florida to have a premier advocate in the United States House of Representatives."
"Nobody can do it better than Annette Taddeo," Crist added, reminding voters that "she's a wonderful person with a great heart"
Taddeo called DeSantis a "terrible person to represent all of Floridians." Instead, Taddeo commented that Crist is a candidate that can "unite" and "bring us together.
