Scott on Rising Gas Prices: "Enough is Enough."

Share

Yesterday, The Floridian reported about the nationwide rising gas prices. The historic highs have brought some of the most mind-boggling numbers this country has ever seen. We reported that gas prices reached its highest rate ever. We reported that in just one day, the national average went up 5 cents. We reported that in just one month, it went up 50 cents. We reported that in just one year, it went up $1.63 roughly. Sadly, but unsurprisingly, the national average went up 4 more cents today.

We also reported the worst fact of them all, there appears to be no end in sight.

Florida appears to be closely mirroring the national average. According to AAA, as of June 2nd, Florida sits at $4.714 while the nationwide cost sits at $4.715 and was within a few cents on June 1st.

However, when we compare these costs to California, the most populated state in the Union by nearly 9 million people, some Floridians might have the thought of “Well, at least I’m not living there.” As of June 2nd, the statewide average of gas per gallon in California is a whopping $6.213.

Today, Fox News reported of a gas station in downtown Los Angeles that was charging over 8 dollars a gallon for regular gasoline.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) responded to the preposterous price for fuel in a tweet that states

“While families are already struggling with raging inflation, gas prices in liberal blue-state California are skyrocketing over $8 thanks to @JoeBiden & the Democrats’ socialist Green New Deal policies. Enough is enough. We need to make America energy independent again.

Many on the right have called for President Joe Biden (D) to unlock more of the United States’ potential to produce energy domestically, especially since the Biden administration said they would stop buying oil from Russia due to their invasion campaign in Ukraine.
