Shortly after attending the one year anniversary remembrance ceremony for the Surfside condominium collapse that killed 98 people, Gov. Ron DeSantis opined on the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade.
The Court ruling came down as Gov. DeSantis, First Lady Casey DeSantis, Lt. Gov. Jeannette Nunez, and CFO Jimmy Patronis, sat alongside First Lady Jill Biden, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and State Senators Lauren Book and Jason Pizzo, during the ceremony where some 1,000 people attended the ceremony.
Gov. DeSantis stated that the Court "properly interpreting the Constitution, and that "the prayers of millions upon millions of Americans have been answered."
DeSantis has not said if he would call for a special election to ban abortion at the state level, as some Florida lawmakers have called for. DeSantis says that the state will stick to its pro-life reforms and will continue to promote "adoption, foster care and child welfare."
