Dirty Politics Rears it Head in Central Florida GOP Primary Race

Share

Americans for the most part have championed the idea of free and fair elections as being most important to our democracy. There was always a kind of respectful attitude to the property of others supporting different political candidates during election cyçles. However, it appears Scott Sturgill (R), a candidate for District 7 in the upcoming Republican primary (a large field we might add – 8 candidates), released a video showing a man playing dirty politics  in Central Florida as he trespassed on private property and stole and destroyed Sturgill's campaign signs.

Alongside releasing the video, Sturgill added a statement with the video, stating, “Just like we need More Adults in Washington, we also need more adults locally."

"This video is from this past Saturday night in Sanford. This man is seen going onto the property of McKee Construction and destroying several of our signs. Thank you to Sheriff Dennis Lemma and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office who takes trespassing and destruction of property seriously. When this person is caught, they will be prosecuted. If you can identify the man in this video, please send us a direct message," added Sturgill.

Other candidates in this Republican primary in district 7 have not been strangers to property theft and damage. For instance, several others were caught stealing combat veteran Cory Mills signs within district 7.

The Republican Party of Florida announced that Sturgill will take the stage at the 2022 Sunshine Summit at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on July 22nd and 23rd to debate a lot of the other candidates in district 7. Those candidates include Mills will debate along with former Navy Seal Brady Duke, former DeBary Vice Mayor Ericka Benfield, former Rep. John Mica, COS Russell Roberts, businessman Scott Sturgill, State Rep. Anthony Sabatini, Ted Edwards, and Army officer Armando Santos.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis specifically called for debates in four contested Republican primary races--Districts 4, 7, 13, and 15.

The primary race in District 7 is largely considered one of the most-watched contests in the nation.
