State Sen. Lauren Book (D-FL) has released a new campaign ad titled “Mom” on Monday. According to the press release, “the campaign to re-elect Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book launched a six-figure broadcast ad buy focused on the incumbent leader and working mom’s fight for Broward families and her battle-proven leadership against Ron DeSantis.”

Sen. Book has been a strong advocate for women’s rights on issues such as abortion and gained more fame statewide when arguing against the recently-passed and signed 15-week abortion ban in Florida.

“During the 2021 Legislative Session, Book was unanimously elected Senate Democratic Leader by her Colleagues in the Caucus. Since that time, Book has not only led the fight against the dangerous GOP agenda in the Florida Senate – standing up for women’s rights, equality, and freedom of speech – but also Senate Victory’s critical fight to defend Democratic incumbents and flip critical seats statewide so that the minority party stands a fighting chance over the next two years in Tallahassee.”

In the ad, Book highlights her motherhood and looks to solve the “affordability crisis that is causing so much pain for families.”

According to Ballotpedia, Lauren Book is seeking reelection in State Senate in District 35. As of right now, there are no Republican challengers.
