This week, former President Donald Trump (R) endorsed Florida Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) from the 18th district. Mast, a former U.S. Army serviceman, is in his third term seeking reelection this November. The endorsement from the man who received the greatest amount of votes a Republican has ever received in the Presidential election should help the congressman.

Moreover, the 45th President said in a press release that “Congressman Brian Mast is working hard in Congress for the incredible people of Florida. A U.S. Army Veteran and a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart recipient, Brian is dedicated to serving our Country. Brian is Strong on National Security, the Border, Jobs, the Economy, our Second Amendment, the Military and our Brave Vets. Brian Mast is a Warrior for our movement, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”

Currently, Mast sits on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

In the past election, he defeated Pam Keith (D) by just under 15 points.

Later on in the day, Mast gave a response to Trump’s endorsement, Mast tweeted this out Wednesday:

“I’m proud to announce I’ve been endorsed by President Trump. After Biden’s oppressive mandates, sky high inflation & foreign policy failures, the stakes have never been higher. Please join President Trump in supporting our America First mission”
