Donalds Calls Hunter Biden a 'National Security Risk'

Share

During the 2020 presidential election, Hunter Biden and controversies surrounding him became an important talking point. The Trump campaign highlighted concerns that linked Hunter Biden to President Joe Biden (D), but the topic quickly subsumed with President Biden’s win. However, the concerns are spreading across news media again, and lawmakers are commenting on the matter. Calling Hunter Biden a “national security risk,” Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (D), is criticizing “the media’s cover-up of the Hunter Biden story.

Rep. Donalds, a vocal critic of the Biden administration is now “demanding answers regarding his apparently corruption and exploitation of federal office.”

He is calling “for Democrats and the media to stop  covering for him and allow the truth to come out,” saying that the media largely downplayed discussions about Hunter Biden as “Russian disinfo.”

Accusing the media and the Biden administration of wanting “to protect then-candidate Biden,” Donalds is now pursuing answers.

“As a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, I’ve joined several efforts by Ranking Member Comer (R-KY) and other Republicans to demand answers on Hunter’s shady and potentially illegal business dealings and other compromising behavior,” said Donalds, adding that “if Hunter Biden had the last name ‘Trump,’ Democrats and their cohorts in the media would be calling for investigations and the impeachment of the Chief Executive.”

Donalds also makes mention of “Hunter’s involvement in the countries of China, Russia, and Ukraine (to name a few),” calling Hunter’s alleged dealings “of extreme national security hazards” and asserting that “the American people deserve to know if he and the ‘big guy’ are or have profited from their political power.”

The "big guy" referenced by Rep. Donalds points to an email from a Chinese energy firm that agreeing to provide "10 percent equity" in the company for the "big guy," largely believed to be President Biden.
