Annette Taddeo Battles DeSantis' Redistricting in Florida

On top of Pre-K reform and Medicaid expansion, State Senator Annette Taddeo (D-40) has an ambitious legislative agenda on her hands, including battling DeSantis' hypothetical redistricting map.

Recently, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) released his own redistricting map in Florida, causing a stir among Democrats and Republicans.

However, not everybody thinks this mapping was exactly fair, including Senator Taddeo who said, "He did that map for Iowa and New Hampshire, I hope he didn't do that map for Floridians," insinuating that Gov. DeSantis could be looking ahead to a run for president in 2024.

Sen. Taddeo then described the potential map proposed by DeSantis, claiming, "I was looking at the vote on the floor to see what the number was because clearly, it was a veto proof number."

Redistricting has been a controversial topic this year given what happened the last time the state of Florida engaged in redistricting. Republicans caught a healthy dose egg in their collective faces when it was discovered that the process of drawing the maps was skewed by favor their incumbent candidates.

Now it is theorized the Florida GOP will be carefully approaching redistricting this time around.  Taddeo left her Republican colleagues with this, "The question is, do Republicans want to go into this fight?"
