Rubio Accuses Biden of Blocking his Anti-Chinese Slave Labor Bill

Share

After Senate Democrats blocked Senator Marco Rubio’s 2-year Uyghur anti-Slavery bill effort earlier this week, the bill finally passed in the upper chamber, but only after the White House pulled out all the political and legislative steps to keep his slave labor bill from passing.

Shortly after the bill passed, Senator Rubio release a short video on Twitter accusing “the Biden White House” of throwing obstacles in the way of his bill because of their alleged special interests in China.

Sen. Rubio asserted that one of the reasons why The White House pushed back against his anti-Slavery bill was because John Kerry, the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, “wants to bring to this Country a bunch of solar panels made by slave labor.

“It wasn't helpful, by the way, that the Biden White House was calling people telling him not to support this and to slow this down,” said Rubio. “They were against it for a lot of reasons because they were being soft on China, because they didn't want to upset the companies they were out there lobbying against us, and because John Kerry wants to bring to this Country a bunch of solar panels made by slave labor.”

Rubio contends that “big American companies” are using unfair and immoral Uyghur Muslim “slave labor” and are directly and indirectly benefitting from the practice.

“They buy stuff from those factories, some of them are probably making stuff in those factories and they're shipping it to this country, and what that means is every single one of us, every single one of us even though we don't know it, our buying things that have been made by Uyghur Muslim slaves in China,” said Rubio.

Rubio’s bill will now go to President Biden's desk to be signed.
