Florida Democrats Paint Marco Rubio as a Failure

Share

The 2022 midterm election is expected to be one of the most consequential of this generation.  One race that is poised to be one of the most contentious contests this election cycle is Florida's U.S. Senate race where Democrats are painting incumbent Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as a failure.

The Florida Democrats have valiantly attacked Rubio's job performance, harping on absences he has had while in the Senate.  However, the opinion pieces that seem to be illustrating this picture for Floridians all appear to be written by registered Democrats.

The Palm Beach Post, for instance, published an opinion piece about Sen. Rubio only being visible because of the nearing of the 2022 election, even likening him to Groundhog's Day.  "Groundhog's Day is night. Sen. Marco Rubio has seen the shadow of Election Day 2022 and is suddenly pretending to do his job."

On the same note, the Sun Sentinel opinion even encouraged voters to not reward the Senator for his apparent absence.

Florida Democrats have used these recent op-ed's to play into their efforts to flip the seat blue, claiming that Rubio "should not be rewarded with a third term," citing another 14 absences from Senate hearings in the past two months.

Recently, Senator Rubio has spent most of his time fighting against the rise of Socialism across the world and in the United States.  The Senator likened the "Build Back Better," plan to Socialism on many occasions, labeling it the, "Build Back Broke," plan.

Rubio is set to face off against US Rep. Val Demings (D-FL) in defense of his seat, which Democrats and Republicans alike anticipate to be the blood bath of 2022.
