Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has joined the chorus of Florida Republicans and Democrats in denouncing President Joe Biden’s decision to delist the murderous Colombian-based Marxist terrorist FARC from the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations.

Joe Biden's decision to legitimize the Marxist terror group FARC paves the way for Castrochavismo in Colombia and is a slap in the face to Colombian-Americans,” tweeted Gov. DeSantis, adding,” From his support of FARC, to his failure to assist those seeking freedom in Cuba, Joe Biden and his Democrat party have consistently sided with Marxist elements throughout the Western Hemisphere.”

Gov. DeSantis outlines President Biden’s support of easing restrictions to Communist Cuba when he was vice president and lax foreign policy with Dictator Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela.

DeSantis’s remarks come as one of his Democratic gubernatorial opponents, State Senator Annette Taddeo called for the condemnation of the Maduro and Castro regime-supported narco-terrorist group.

“The FARC, funded by the Castro regime and now by the Maduro regime as well as the narco trade are terrorists. We must condemn them.  Just like the Sandinistas and other groups who have terrorized, persecuted, tortured, and kidnapped individuals in other countries. For me and many of us this is painful and very personal,” stated Taddeo.

Florida political consultant Christian Ulvert, a Democrat, asserted his opinion against the Biden administration’s legitimizing of the FARC.

“Let’s be clear. Sandinistas. Chavistas. La FARC. All are terrorists. They have terrorized, captured, tortured & persecuted individuals in their respective countries. To say otherwise is denying history and painful realities. So you either condemn them or have to answer otherwise,” stated Ulvert.

Republican lobbyist and activist Christian Camarra pointed out that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried’s campaign staffer, Evelyn Pérez-Verdía, supports Biden’s measure to begin to ‘normalize’ relations with the terrorist group, a move he says “will cost” Florida Democrats in the 2022 midterm elections.

Perez-Verdia retweeted Marco Frieri tweet calling for the U.S. to follow the lead of the European Union in taking the FARC of the terrorist organization list.

“More than 90% of FARC members have held up their end of the peace deal. Colombia & the E.U. already took them off the terrorist list, it's time for the U.S. to do the same,” tweeted Frieri.

Frieri runs “Colombians for Biden.”

The Floridian reached out to the Fried campaign for comment from Commissioner Fried about where she stood on the issue, but have not received a response back other than Perez-Verida blocking us on Twitter.
