Rick Scott: Infrastructure Bill is a 'Socialist Wishlist'

While President Biden (D) has oddly come out insisting his comprehensive infrastructure bill will "cost $0" many still support the passage of the latest Democrat backed infrastructure bill. However, US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has fired back at House and Senate Democrats, claiming the bill has "nothing to do with infrastructure," and is simply a "Socialist wishlist."

The latest bill proposed by Democrats as a part of President Biden's "Build Back Better" plan, is projected to cost over $1 trillion, but the aftermath is what is disputed.  The Biden Administration has so far stayed true to not raising taxes on households with an annual income below $400,000, but Senator Scott feels that spending at this rate says otherwise.

The Floridian sat down with Sen. Scott last week with in Washington DC where he laid out his take on the bill and infrastructure at large:

"We all think of infrastructure as roads, bridges, airports and seaports.  I spend $85 billion in Florida taxpayer money doing those things in Florida, so I believe that.  But the infrastructure bill they passed has less than 50% to do with roads, bridges, airports and seaports."

The Senator also jabbed at the Democrat talking point of the bill being paid for, "It's not.  CBO came out and said it's going to at least increase our debt by a quarter of a trillion dollars.  Now everybody's taxes have to go up."

Scott then drew parallels between Democrats not wanting to raise the debt ceiling in rhetoric while simultaneously wanting to spend an extravagant amount of money on bills after calling the infrastructure plan "a Socialist wishlist."

Scott then gave praise to infamous moderate Senators, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) for their "focus on tax increases and out of control spending."
