DeSantis: 'Nobody Should Lose Their Jobs' Over Vaccine Mandates

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) made an appearance on FOX News over the weekend, discussing the effects of vaccine mandates on the labor force and his disapproval of the Biden Administration.

\The comments come after the Federal Reserve released its Beige Book report, signaling that vaccine mandates have had a negative effect on higher turnover in the workforce. During an interview with Sunday Morning Futures, Governor DeSantis commented that “nobody should lose their jobs” due to the mandates, once again calling Biden’s federal decision “unconstitutional.”

Floridians have vehemently opposed vaccine mandates, arguing that whether or not someone takes the vaccine should be up to the individual.

In the Beige Book report, the Federal Reserve shared that “firms reported higher turnover, as workers left for other jobs or retired.” Moreover, “child-care issues and vaccine mandates were widely cited as contributing to the problem, along with COVID-related absences.”

During the interview on FOX News, while speaking on the subject of vaccine mandates across the country, Governor DeSantis reiterated that “nobody should lose their jobs based on these injections.”

DeSantis touted that Florida has “been able to fight back very effectively against mandates imposed by local governments,” and he also reiterated that “what Biden’s doing is unconstitutional.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R), who’s also criticized the Biden Administration for its vaccine mandate, also commented on the effects of the mandate.

On Twitter, he posted a video of a statement he delivered with fellow GOP lawmakers.

Alongside the video, he commented that “Biden’s reckless, socialist tax-and-spend agenda & unconstitutional vaccine mandates are horrible for America,” adding that they are costing jobs, destroying supply chains while also fueling inflation.

In turn, the former Governor of Florida admitted that “Biden’s failed policies hurt our poorest families, like mine growing up, but he refuses to face reality.”
