With House Democrats having already proposed trillions of dollars in government spending in the proposed infrastructure bill, US Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) claims the reconciliation bill currently being debated in the House of Representatives, is not what America needs.
The Floridian approached Donalds in Washington DC where we asked about the behind the scenes nature with Democrats and their new legislation:
"If you're in a Democrat +5 seat, you can't tell me your small business owners are looking at this budget reconciliation bill and are like 'yes this is what America needs' they're looking at this like 'are you crazy," questioned Rep. Donalds.
Rep. Donalds described these Democrat members who represent the "+5 seat[s]" as they could be flipped due to the new policies. "They're trying to represent their people, which is their job, but they're being pushed by the radical left to vote for the thing Bernie Sanders wants."
Donalds believes that even Democrat voters do not support the legislation, "that's why they went with Joe Biden" referring to the 2020 Democrat Presidential Primary race.
Senator Sanders (D-VT) is who Donalds describes as a "true believer" after news broke that Sanders doesn't think that the new spending bill went far enough.
Big-spending could play a vital role in the 2022 midterm elections. Like Donalds speculates, if most Democrats do not support spending to this degree, we could see the GOP take back some seats as 78% of Capitol Hill aides believe will happen according to new polls.
