Embattled political advisor Corey Lewandowski (R) has faced several controversies in the past, but accusations of making sexual advances to a top Trump donor may have finally ejected him from the “Trump world.” This week, it was reported that Trashelle Odom, the wife of John Odom, an Idaho construction executive, accused Lewandowsky of repeatedly touching her and speaking to her in sexually graphic terms. As a result, Lewandowski has been removed from running the pro-Trump super PAC Make America Great Again Action. Instead, former Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi (R) will be heading the PAC.
In a statement provided to POLITICO, Odom explained the incident, detailing that “on the evening of September 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada, I attended a dinner to support a charity and spend time with wonderful friends.” In encountering Lewandowsky, Odom explained that “he repeatedly touched me inappropriately, said vile and disgusting things to me, stalked me, and made me feel violated and fearful.”
Odom said that she wants to see Lewandowsky “held accountable.”
In response, David Chesnoff, the attorney representing Lewandowski, commented that “accusations and rumors appear to be morphing by the minute and we will not dignify them with a further response.”
After the accusation was made public, Lewandowski was removed as the head of the pro-Trump super PAC, and he was replaced by Attorney General Bondi, who is a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump (R).
Taylor Budowich, President Trump’s director of communications, made the announcement on Twitter, saying that “Pam Bondi, the very talented and honorable frmr AG of FL, has our complete faith and confidence in taking over MAGA Action.” Budowich went on to mention that “Corey Lewandowski will be going on to other endeavors and we very much want to thank him for his service.”
