Ron DeSantis: The $40 Million Governor

Another monthly reporting cycle in the 2022 gubernatorial race has come to a close, and once against Gov. Ron DeSantis has absolutely crushed his two Democratic opponents in money raised. Gov. DeSantis, who has been referred to as the "Gold Standard" for governors by former Rep. Allen West, is proving his weight in political gold.

Not only is the disparity in the amounts raise staggering, it just doesn’t seem fair. According to the Florida Division of Elections, Gov. DeSantis’s “Friends of Ron DeSantis” political committee raised $4,229,978.38 in July, while Rep. Charlie Crist only raised $268,491.18 and AG Commissioner Nikki Fried managed to raise just $130,295.64.

Since the 2022 midterm election cycle kicked off, DeSantis has raised a whopping $41,465,812.78. It is important to note that DeSantis has raised this amount since late October 2020. There have been millions more raised in 2019.

That’s almost $42 million to date. Crist has raised a total of $851,936.47 and Fried just $526,671.87.

A little simple math paints the picture that DeSantis has outraised both Crist and Fried combined by $40 million.
