The Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) is a little bothered over Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s recent brushing off of Tropical Storm Fred during a Zoom call this week.

A laughing Fried said,” Excuse the electric lighting, we’ve got obviously a tropical storm whose coming through right now, so. But us in south Florida are so used to tropical storms, that I’m, Meh, we’ll be fine.”

Fried’s mindset is one share by many Floridians who are accustomed to direct hits or near-missed from tropical storms, but Republicans were quick to criticize the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, calling her “reckless & irresponsible,” especially after they Fried has been going around the state “claiming to be the governor & emergency manager.”

A recent poll has Fried surging past Rep. Charlie Crist in the 2022 Democratic gubernatorial primary race.
