Darren Soto Loyal to Biden Through Afghanistan Debacle

Share

With the withdrawal out of Afghanistan universally accepted as a failure, Democrats who have stuck with President Biden (D) through this in the media and Washington are far and few between.  However, US Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL) has remained true to Biden through the crisis that many Democrats have jumped ship on.

Rep. Soto took to Twitter to congratulate veterans on the time they spent in the middle-east at large, but mostly Afghanistan writing "We stopped Osama Bin Laden and those responsible for 9/11."  Then included a link for veterans who are experiencing mental health issues after their service:

Republicans have been critical of Soto assuming we emerged victorious from Afghanistan, given the rather unorganized withdrawal that has tanked the President's approval rating.

In the last week, "#BidenisaFailure" successfully trended on Twitter alongside many comparisons between President Biden and former President Jimmy Carter (D) due to his own middle-eastern controversy in the late 1970s.

It is also important to note that Osama Bin Laden was killed in 2011, and we are just now pulling out of the region 10 years later.  Radical terrorist groups that subscribe the similar ideologies such as Alqaeda not only still exist, but have overthrown the government of Afghanistan.

Given these facts about our long-overdue exit from Afghanistan, did we really win the 20-year war Biden promised to end?  We will have to wait and see.
