Washington—The Cuba Libre rally put on by The American Conservative Union, saw several key members of Congress, including Sens. Ted Cruz and Rick Scott, and Reps. Pat Fallon (R), Carlos Gimenez (R), Mario Diaz-Balart (R), a very pregnant Elise Stefanik (R), Roger Williams (R), and Kat Cammack (R), who questioned Biden's ability to lead and his "moral compass."
All of the members railed against the Cuban Regime and stated Americans were standing by the protesters in Cuba.
Rep. Cammack told The Floridian that what America has learned about the Biden administration is that it “caves when it comes to tremendous pressure,” pointing to how Vice President Kamala Harris was pressured to visit the southern border as a result of the “border crisis.”
“What we’ve learned is that this administration caves when it comes to tremendous pressure. We bitch, moan, and complain about Kamala, she eventually had to do something and made her way to Texas,” said Cammack. “Now, we still have to get her to the right part of the border, she seems to have gotten lost along the way.”
While she doesn’t expect the Biden administration to do much on Cuba, Cammack said that “this kind of pressure” and “kinds of movements” help put pressure on Biden, who has “no moral compass.”
“Because 60% of Cuban Americans reside in the state of Florida, this is part of the fabric of our stated,” continued Cammack, who insists that military action against Cuba is not warranted at this time.
Democrats like Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz have praised Biden's overall response and "leadership" against the Cuban government's crackdown on protestors, but Sen. Rubio called the sanctions "meaningless" because the rest of the world still trades with Cuba.
With Russia and China firmly behind Cuba, there is very little the U.S. can do outside of pressuring other countries into ceasing trade with the island.
