Rick Scott to Donate Senate Salary to Children's Charity

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has announced that he plans to donate, not only his first-quarter salary but his second quarterly Senate salary to charities across Florida to help fight child poverty and diseases such as ALS.

Liberty Youth Ranch in Bonita Springs is a residential program for vulnerable children, and Advance Senior Center in Kissimmee provides programs and resources for seniors to promote health, exercise, and entertainment.

Liberty Youth Ranch is one of Florida's select 100% privately funded residential programs for vulnerable children since 2003.  The institution offers a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities to give children the opportunity to work through their circumstances while enjoying their youth.

For Advance Senior Center, their mission is to promote the welfare of the elderly, with different conditions, and give their families access to information and services to improve the quality of their lives, providing opportunities for participation and support of the community.

Like President Donald Trump (R), Senator Rick Scott donates his salary due to gaining his fortune pre-politics, leaving out the need to collect such a hefty paycheck most politicians do.

Alan C. Dimmitt, Founder, CEO, and President of Liberty Youth Ranch expressed that he is "grateful," for Senator Scott's volunteerism and generous support.  As well as Norberto Fonseca of the Advance Senior Center admitted their gratefulness as well.

Senator Scott has already made plans to donate his second-quarter salary to Guadalupe Center who's mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee, and the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association to help fight ALS on all fronts.
