Washington D.C.- While Israel and Palestine have ignored President Joe Biden's (D) call for a cease-fire, House Republicans are rallying behind Israel's right to defend itself, in particular Jewish Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), who highlighted the need to back Israel and getting Americans home safely who are still in the region.

Rep.Zeldin spoke outside of the Congress yesterday morning with a group of Republican colleagues and claimed Hamas has "long been a tormentor of Israel," adding that Hamas' terror attacks have led to "a significant loss of life as a result."

Zeldin informed the press about American visitors in Gaza and Israel who have been caught up in the chaos, and probably won't be able to return to the States soon, "There's news that just came out that the US embassy offices in Israel are closed due to the attacks from Hamas.  There are Americans who wish to renew their passports or obtain passports for their children.  They're unable to secure an appointment and unable to leave the country."

Luckily, the representative said, "The reporting is also showing that there is an active US diplomatic effort in Gaza to move Americans out of Gaza through Egypt.  But at the same time, the embassy in Tel Aviv is closed for this purpose, as well as limited hours and availability in Jerusalem and not taking new appointments."

Zeldin passed the mic to Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) the co-chair of the House Republicans for Israel Caucus, who called Rep. Zeldin's support for Israel "legendary."

Lamborn further commented on the civilian presence in the middle east harmed by Hamas, accusing them of violating the Geneva Convention.

Both representatives further the conversation echoed by other House Republicans, including outspoken Israel advocate, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) who posted on Twitter last week that we "cannot waver while they [Israel] are relentlessly attacked by Hamas terrorists."

Democrats still face the tough ultimatum of answering who they are behind in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and better yet, are they willing to sign on with Zeldin and Lamborn on bringing home Americans safely?
