Waltz: Biden is Having a ‘Jimmy Carter Moment’

Since President Joe Biden (D) delivered his State of the Union address to the country, a number of GOP members have voiced their disapproval of the President’s first 100 days in office. Republicans have argued that the Biden administration has not properly responded to the “border crisis,” and many have shared their immigration concerns. In a statement provided this week, Florida Rep. Michael Waltz (R) said that recent events are a clear example of failed leadership, adding that “President Biden is lost in the wilderness” as he is having a “Jimmy Carter moment.”

“President Biden has been in office for nearly four months and is already having his Jimmy Carter moment,” Waltz shared, adding that Biden is going through his own “crisis of confidence” much like Jimmy Carter experienced during his own tenure in the White House.

“Our energy supply has been attacked by Russian hackers and now Americans across the southeast are standing in gas lines akin to the 1979 crisis during the Jimmy Carter Administration,” Waltz explained, citing the recent hack on Continental Pipeline that has affected the transportation of gas across the east coast. Waltz continued, saying that this has happened “all while President Biden has thrown the weight of the federal government behind killing pipeline construction that would fuel America and create jobs.”

As well, Waltz shared his concerns regarding the border, mentioning that “there is a crisis at the border with unprecedented crossings and our border patrol is overwhelmed.”

Along with commenting on growing tension with China and the violence erupting in the Middle East, Waltz worries that “the world smells weakness and we can do better.”

In short, the Florida lawmaker assured that “we will persevere through this turmoil, but it will take the universal recognition from Americans that what’s occurring right now isn’t working.”
