Rick Scott Says Apple Fails to Defend American Freedoms, Sells out to China

On the heels of a scathing New York Times investigative report on Big Tech Giant Apple and the apparent compromising of the operations in the People’s Republican of China, where it is alleged that it has ceded control to the Communist Chinese government, Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) told The Floridian that this kind of behavior is exactly what is expected from a regime harvests organs and is “building a military” to defeat the U.S.

“The Communist Party of China is not our friend, they’ve decided to become our adversary...They are building a military to try to defeat us,” said Scott, one of the U.S Congress's most outspoken critics of the regime in Beijing.

Earlier this year, Scott began to urge the Biden administration to pressure the  International Olympic Committed into moving the upcoming games out of China.

Sen. Scott went on to say that “anybody that does business with Communist China” can not only expect to see their business suffer under the Chinese, but they will  become “part of their world domination.”

And as for Apple, Scott asserted that the tech giant was more concerned with their bottom line than and potential American freedoms that could be compromised.

“Apple is more worried about making money than defending the freedoms of this country,” concluded Scott.

The Times story outlines that the findings show that the “compromises” that Apple embraced “would make it nearly impossible for it to stop the Chinese government from gaining access to the data.”

Apple, said that their users' data has never been compromised anywhere the company operated.

“We have never compromised the security of our users or their data in China or anywhere we operate,” Apple said in a statement

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, who Scott first appointed to the position, also opined on the the China-Apple issue.

"It’s hard to see a great American company bend over backwards to give China everything it wants," stated CFO Patronis. "The Communist Party of China is America’s #1 competitor & Apple is basically giving them the tools to shut down any efforts for freedom & liberty to flourish."
