Senator Rick Scott (R) and congressional Republicans continue to criticize President Joe Biden over his perceived failure to act on the growing illegal immigration “border crisis” that the president himself has now acknowledged as being “a border crisis.

“While Biden ignores this horrific humanitarian and national security crisis that he has created, Americans are taking notice of the consequences of his failed policies of open borders and amnesty,” stated Sen. Scott this past weekend. “How can Biden deliver an Address to Congress next week and talk about this when he hasn’t even seen the border yet? We won’t let Biden’s promise go. Keep your word, Mr. President. Stop with the games and visit the border NOW.”

Republicans like Sen. Scott have been descending on the U.S. southern border to see the humanitarian crisis for themselves, and have been quick to point out that while they have traveled to the border, neither President Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris, have traveled to the region to see the crisis for themselves.

Since the crisis began, no less than four separate delegations have visited the border region, most members of Congress have visited the controversial temporary detention facility in Donna, Texas.

Vice President Harris has been appointed to oversee the illegal immigrant border surge but has yet to hold a press conference on the issue. Harris says that she hasn’t traveled to the border because of COVID concerns.

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning political program, Harris tried to place blame on the Trump administration for the border surge.

"This is about the Western Hemisphere,” said Harris. “We are a neighbor in the Western Hemisphere, and it is also about understanding that we have the capacity to actually get in there if we are consistent. Part of the problem is that under the previous administration, they pulled out essentially a lot of what had been the continuum of work, and it essentially came to a standstill,”
