In a one-minute video clip from last week's budget announcement, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ executive office floored his Democratic detractors by rubbing in their face that Florida was open for business and that unlike other blue states around the country, Florida was not locking people down, rather lifting them up.

“Florida has lead and continues lead on protecting the livelihoods of our people, while so many other states kept locking people down, Florida lifted people up,” stated DeSantis, who added, “we every job is essential.”

DeSantis concluded his remarks by touting how he has kept schools and business open during the pandemic,

“If you are a parent, we ensure you kids have the right to attend school in person,” added DeSantis. “Lockdowns do not work. School closures have been disastrous.

Florida Schools are open. Every Floridian has a right to work, all business have a right to operate, and Florida is better for it.”
