Democrat Sen. Book Endorses Mandated Vaccinations On Children

State Senator Lauren Book (D-Plantation), introduced legislation to put Florida's children first in requiring vaccines, in efforts to further her Children and Family first agenda.

With SB 1022, Book aims to provide additional oversight through various daycare facilities. The bill would also require the Department of Children and Families to enforce a required minimum percentage of children who attend daycare facilities to be immune to specific diseases.

Last year the United States reported the most measles cases nationwide since 1992 and currently is flirting with losing its measles elimination status.

Childhood vaccines have been branded as a necessity in recent times, and since COVID-19 hit, vaccination rates have sunk as much as 60%.  Dr. Lisa Gwynn, President of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics claims that vaccines are the, "most effective" and "safest" way to prevent all diseases.

Book is proposing her bill in hopes to curb these terrifyingly staggering statistics.  But in a country like the US, we should ask again, is public safety a higher priority than individual liberty?
