Without question, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz is President Donald Trump’s greatest and most loyal ally in the U.S. Congress, as the popular sophomore legislator believes that the president’s legacy will “age just like a fine wine” and that a 2024 presidential nomination is within Trump’s grasp.

Politicos in both political parties believe that President Trump’s legacy has been irreparably damaged as a result of the January 6 Capitol riot that left 6 dead.

Trump called for a peaceful protest and later denounced the violence that was committed by extremists groups like the Proud Boys and Oathtakers that have supported his presidency, but Democrats still insist that the president incited and ordered the criminal activity and violence.

But even though it appears that Trump will transition out of the White House by January 20th and that his political career has been permanently compromised, Rep. Gaetz believes that the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is Trump’s to lose,  if he wants it.

“I think the legacy of Donald Trump will get better with age just like a fine wine.” Rep. Matt Gaetz

“If Donald Trump wants the Republican nomination in 2024 it will be handed to him on a silver platter,” stated Gaetz on Fox News’s “Next Revolution” I'll support him and I think the field will be mostly clear but for some people that have ambition that outsizes their political sense.”

Gaetz added that he believes Trump “ is as strong as he's ever been because people see the hypocrisy, they see the headwinds he faced and I think over time he's only going to be proven more right.”

Congressional Democrats are so fearful that Trump runs again in 2024 , that it appears the only reason they are pushing for a swift Senate conviction of the president is to keep him from ever holding any political office.

“One of the other purposes of impeachment, in this case, is to make sure that President Trump is not able to run for federal office again, that he’s not able to seek the presidency,” Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas)
