Donalds Comes Out Swinging, Defends Georgia Congresswoman's Freedom of Speech

Share

Conservative Rep. Byron Donalds (D) has taken issue with fellow Florida Rep. Ted Deutch (D) and his call for controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie  Taylor Greene (R), to not only be tossed from the U.S. House of Representatives but for her Freedom of Speech to be stripped away.

“Rep. Greene denied the school shooting in Parkland & insulted the memory of the 17 murdered. She attacked brave student leaders fighting for their lives,” tweeted Deutch. “She shouldn’t have a public platform to further spread dangerous lies. Not on a House Committee. Not as a Member of Congress.”

Rep. Donalds told The Floridian that Rep. Deutch’s suggestion that Rep. Greene be de-platformed was “utterly ridiculous.”

“No member of Congress, and frankly no American, should have their First Amendment rights taken away from them simply because we may or may not like the things that they say,” said Donalds.

Donalds brought up a good point in that Democratic Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders’ free speech wasn’t taken away when his “rhetoric” influenced a deranged supporter to open fire during a congressional baseball team practice, wounding House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R).

“We never took away Bernie Sanders’ right to speak when it was clear that his rhetoric led to the shooting of many members of the congressional baseball team and almost killed the Steve Scalise,” added Donalds. “Ted Deutch needs to remember what the 1st amendment is. Maybe I have to do the job of reminding him.”

Rep. Greene’s questioning of the shooting incidents in both Parkland and Sandy Hook has enraged many families of the victims and survivors of both of those school shootings, and the exploitation of those two tragic events by Democrats.

Greene targeted Activist David Hogg and questioned his motives and the funding that he has received for his efforts to bring attention to the Parkland school shooting.

“David why are you supporting the red flag laws ?” said Greene. “If Scott Peterson the resource officer at Parkland had done his job then Nikolas Cruz would’ve killed anybody in your high school, or at least protected them. Why are you supporting red flag gun laws that attack our Second Amendment rights?”

Greene went on to question Hogg that “if school zone were protected by security guards with guns, there would be no mass shootings at schools?”

In addition, Greene accused Hogg of taking funding for his organization from liberal groups and Progressive billionaire philanthropist George Soros.
