In a final push before election day next Tuesday, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) has released a new advertisement that highlights Democratic candidates across the sunshine state. The move is an effort to turn Florida, a battleground state, blue.

The advertisement from “Florida Consumers First PAC,” titled “Imagine a Florida,” questions what a future Florida would look like if Democrats were in charge of all levels of government.

In a statement, Commissioner Fried commented that “we have an incredibly talented, diverse, and experienced group of Democrats running up and down the ballot in Florida, and I want to ensure we see victories at every level.”

Moreover, “during this pandemic we continue to see first hand how important our local and state leaders are, and the difference between what Democrats have done to protect Floridians compared to Republicans couldn’t be more clear.”

Ultimately, the Agriculture Commissioner asserted that “we need Democrats at every level to transform our state what it can be, and I’m proud to highlight these candidates in their districts ahead of November 3rd.”

The candidates highlighted in the advertisement include:

Kathy Lewis, Candidate for Senate District 22

Corinna Robinson, Candidate for Senate District 25

Ricky Junquera, Candidate for House District 118

Joshua Hicks, Candidate for House District 11

Daisy Morales, Candidate for House District 48

Nicole Hamm, Candidate for Jacksonville City Council

Kay Maragh, Candidate for Mayor, City of Palm Bay

Currently, Commissioner Fried is the only Democrat elected statewide that is serving in Florida’s cabinet.
