Presidential pardon for Michael Flynn and Roger Stone warranted

The table is set for President Donald Trump to possibly pardon two individuals who appear to have been targeted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations under the leadership of former Director James Comey, in what looks like an egregious effort to undermine the president.

President Trump has always questioned the process in which his former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and long-time advisor Roger Stone landed in hot water during the apparent and now debunked “Russia collusion” investigation, or “witch hunt” as Trump calls it.

Now that newly released court documents obtained first by CBS News show that special agents involved in the case conspired to entrap Flynn. According to Fox News, the notes in question were penned by the bureau’s former counterintelligence chief  Bill Priestap after he met with then-Director James Comey and deputy director Andrew McCabe.

Comey has all-but corroborated the note, stating that he decided to try to “get away with ” sending a couple guys over” to the White House to try to compromise Flynn.

Trump pounced, calling the move a “scam” and tweeted: "DIRTY COP JAMES COMEY GOT CAUGHT!"

Trump also took the opportunity to tweet about Roger Stone’s case, questioning how Stone, who was convicted and sentenced for lying to Congress,  was treated by prosecutors and pointed to how the forewoman in the trial proclaimed her “hatred & bias” towards him.

Tomeka Hart, a former Democratic congressional candidate, on numerous occasions, tweeted anti-Trump messages and opinions.

“It is my strong opinion that the forewoman of the jury, the woman who was in charge of the jury, is totally tainted,” President Trump stated after Stone was sentenced.

Trump continued:

“Does anybody really believe that Roger Stone, a man whose house was raided early in the morning by 29 gun toting FBI agents (with Fake News @CNN closely in toe), was treated fairly . How about the jury forewoman with her unannounced hatred & bias. Same scammers as General Flynn!” – Trump tweeted.

“What happened to General Michael Flynn, a war hero, should never be allowed to happen to a citizen of the United States again!” tweeted Trump

Stone demanded a new trial after it was learned of the forewoman’s biased, but  U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, denied the request.

“The defendant has not shown that the juror lied; nor has he shown that the supposedly disqualifying evidence could not have been found through the exercise of due diligence at the time the jury was selected,” wrote Jackson, an appointee of President Barack Obama. “Moreover, while the social media communications may suggest that the juror has strong opinions about certain people or issues, they do not reveal that she had an opinion about Roger Stone, which is the opinion that matters.”

The smell of a pardon for both Flynn and Stone is the air. A pardon would right a wrong committed to these Americans.
