House Democrats silent over sexual assault claim against Biden

Share

It appears as if a double-standard exists with congressional  House Democrats when it comes to calling out individuals accused of sexual harassment or sexual assault, especially if the individual in question is running for president in 2020.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who along with several other members of Florida’s Democratic Congressional delegation endorsed Joe Biden, has been tight-lipped about the allegation since it surfaced last week.

When asked for comment about the allegation made against Biden, even as the claim has been corroborated by several friends and family members of the accuser, Tara Reade, members of Congress have remained silent.

“He greeted me, he remembered my name, and then we were alone. It was the strangest thing…There was no like, exchange really. He just had me up against the wall.”

The Floridian reached out to several of these Florida Democrats for a response to the allegation made against vice president Biden.

Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Debbie Mucarsel-Powel, Al Lawson, Jr., Lois Frankel, and Darren Soto, have yet to return our request for comment.

Congressional Republicans are beginning to express their thoughts and opinions about the allegation made against Biden.

“His hands were on me and underneath my clothes, and he went down my skirt and then up inside it and he penetrated me with his fingers and he was kissing me at the same time and he was saying some things to me.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) is one of the first Republicans to express their distaste over the “Democrat hypocrisy” and the ongoing “partisan Washington political game” he accuses House Democrats of taking part in.

“This is just the latest example of Democrat hypocrisy,” stated Chris Hartline, Sen. Scott’s Communications Director “The Democrats are happy to ruin reputations and use people as pawns in a partisan Washington political game when they think it benefits them – but will turn a blind eye when it happens to them. Embarrassing, but not surprising.”

Hartline is referring to how Democrats blindly condemned now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh when he was accused of sexual assault in college. Democrats believed Kavanaugh’s accuser's allegation against him even before she testified before the U.S. Senate.

“I pulled away, he got finished doing what he was doing…He said: ‘Come on, man. I heard you liked me.’”

The Biden campaign has of course vehemently denied the allegation.
